After the street, the city
A Rua Direita Em Festa was the first project of the cultural association P.O.I.S! which was created, among other things, to continue the painting work of the rest of the accessible circuit along the shopping streets of Portimão.
Indeed, the first mural on the ground was a success, and the main city hall decided to expand the intervention at the city level. This is when the A Cidade A Cores project was created, a 1.3 km long floor mural divided into 12 sections. 10 were proposed through an Open Call destined to Portuguese artists. Creatives from all over Portugal answered the call, from Porto to Lagos, and a selection of 10 came to paint their artwork during the summer of 2024.
The two remaining parts were painted by members of the association, including myself. I got to paint the section connected to the first mural I created the year before and continue the motif. This time it was inspired by underwater landscapes and by the colors that run along the intricate shapes of the Algarvian coast.
